Economy False Bottoms
A false bottom will aid in separating the wort from the grains. It sits at the bottom of your mash tun, with legs that allow it to sit an inch or so above the bottom of the mash tun.
During sparging, the grain forms on top of the false bottom, allowing the wort to filter through. This assists in assuring that your spigot doesn't get clogged with grain when you run off the wort.
