Shipping Policy:
Shipping and handling charges will be added to your purchase based on the total weight of your order, including packaging.
*Note: If shipping to an APO, please keep in mind this option does NOT provide any online services for calculating shipping charges like United Parcel Service (UPS) does. Therefore, we must finish tabulating your total cost at the store upon receiving your order, the total cost of shipping will be the actual shipping charges plus a $4.00 handling fee. Generally, packages weighing more than 2 lbs will be less expensive shipped via UPS.
By choosing APO you are authorizing us to ship as per the above. We will NOT be contacting you with the total prior to finalizing your order.
You might also find the UPS site issuing a warning. For example:
"WARNING! The shipping cost could not be determined at this time. Additional shipping fees may be necessary. Reason: Packages must weigh more than zero pounds. These fees do not necessarily represent rates charged by UPS and may include handling charges levied by this web site."
This means that the UPS site was not functioning correctly and instead of putting out an error reading as such they send something like this. We will tabulate your shipping charges for you in this case.
Why do you not offer USPS as a shipping option?
Unfortunately we were forced to discontinue USPS as a shipping option (unless requested) in 2008. As that method of shipping does not work with our shopping cart it would calculate $0 and even though clearly noted that charges would be added for this method of shipping on our website we received numerous complaints from customers feeling we were misrepresenting our shipping costs. This is not good PR for a small business thus we changed our policy on this.
Will I be charged sales tax on my order? If you live in the State of Washington, yes. Sales tax is charged on your total order including shipping and handling fees and is based upon the tax rate of where we are shipping your order 'destination based sales tax'. We are in the process of figuring out how to program this into our website for the various juridictions in the state. In the meantime our website is calculating sales tax at a rate of 9.5% which is the highest tax in Washington State. Once received in-house we will re-calculate the sales tax to the rate for your specific address.
Privacy Policy:
The Beer Essentials respects your RIGHT to privacy. We have never and will never give out, rent or sell your personal information to ANY third party for ANY reason. Any information will remain with us for use only in business mailings from our store and only our store.
