Yeast Energizers and Nutrients are used when optimal conditions for your beer or wine are not present. Your water may be too hard or too soft, temperatures may be too high or too low, or the ingredients might lacking in essential chemicals for yeast to thrive. This is when these products come into play. They help fortify the wort or must so the chemical and oxygen balances are brought back and the yeast can begin the fermentation process.

The original and reliable FERMAID® K is a blended complex yeast nutrient that supplies inorganic nitrogen (DAP), organic nitrogen (alpha amino nitrogen derived from yeast extract), key nutrients (magnesium sulfate, thiamine, folic acid, niacin, biotin and calcium pantothenate) and inactivated yeast.
It is best to add Fermaid K over two additions. The first addition is made at the end of the lag phase (6-12 hours after yeast inoculation) and the second addition is made around 1/3 sugar depletion (the end of exponential growth and the beginning of the stationary phase). item #8009

Yeast hulls: 1 oz.
Also called "yeast ghosts" or "yeast skeletons," they are the cell walls left behind during the extraction process. It is not fully understood how they work when added to stuck fermentation, but it is believed that the cell wall material absorbs yeast "poisons" produced by yeasts that inhibit fermentation.
Add 1/4 - 1/2 oz. per 5 gallons along with fresh yeast.
